To start off our meal, we were given a complimentary appetizer. A simple fare of bread and butter with pâté that showcased one of the main staples of Tuscan cuisine, bread. This is not the kind of bread that is usually sold in our local bakeries. It is unsalted, light and airy with a crunchy crust.

For our main course, we opted for pizza and pasta. The servings were quite big, one serving is already big enough for 2-3 people. For our pizza, we ordered Alla Romana. Don't be fooled by the few toppings and its thin and crunchy crust. Contrary to its simplicity, this pizza packs a lot of flavor.
Among the pasta dishes we ordered, Fiocci Al Funghi was an instant favorite. Ribbon pasta drizzled with a lot of olive oil, mixed-in with mushrooms and seasoned to taste. I am not usually a huge fan of aglio olio types of pasta dishes but I am two thumbs-up for this one. It was flavorful and had the right amount of seasoning and spices. The Napoletana and Toscana Matriciana were ok. True to Italian tradition both pasta dishes were simple and only had a few ingredients.
Overall, it was a good dining experience. La Toscana serves yummy food and has a lovely ambiance. What is more is that it offers you a sweet glimpse of Tuscany right at the heart of Davao City.
